Can I do chemical engineering without chemistry?

I'm currently studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics. Originally, I had no clue what area of engineering I wanted to specify in and after some research chemical engineering became an appealing choice. The only issue is I don't do Chemistry, would top universities make exceptions if I achieve really high grades at the end of A levels, or if I switched my fourth subject (Economics) which I was planning to drop anyways would it be too late to catch up?

I haven't checked every uni but Oxford accepts Maths and Physics:

Maybe email the admissions teams of other unis ur interested in to see if they'll accept ur subjects.

So if you want to do chemical engineering, you’ll need to do the ESAT (an admissions test) however if you’re applying to imperial specifically, you’re forced to do the chemistry sections so it might be a struggle if you haven’t learnt AS level chemistry. Also somewhere like Cambridge and imperial requires chemistry so it’s reeallly highly recommended because im sure you’ll get amazing grades but you may have a lower chance of getting an offer/interview from them.

University of Manchester, university of Nottingham and Loughborough - you can apply to these unis for chemical engineering with the a levels you are currently taking.
Nottingham uni is top 5 for chemical engineering I guess

Hi there.

Just as @anonj21 has said, at the University of Nottingham we require Maths A-Level plus either Physics or Chemistry A-Level to join our BEng or MEng Chemical Engineering course. Our typical offer is AAA.

Hope this helps!

I too was very interested in applying to nottingham, but then I saw the league table graduates prospectus and it honestly scared me! I would hate to study all that time just to never find a job, and 14% is scary odds 0.0

They won't "make an exception", however not all chemical engineering courses require A-level Chemistry - I believe several just require maths and either chemistry or physics. Just apply to those that accept either chemistry or physics (or don't require chemistry at all) and no problem

ya that's true.... It is very important to consider graduate prospects......
Did you want to apply for chemical engineering too?
What other unis are you considering?

Loughborough and Sheffield don’t require Chemistry for A-Levels!
