Providing evidence of a child without access to child benefit statement

Hello all,
My ex partner and I have a young child together who I provide financial support for and house regularly, when applying for my loan it asks for proof of existence via a birth certificate which I can provide, and proof of child maintenance statements, however my ex partner received the child maintenance and is refusing to provide any proof to try and ensure I don’t get any help from student finance. Is there any work around for this?

Hi there,

Unfortunately we would be requiring proof of the child's identity and evidence of their dependency.
This can be all pages of the most recent Child Benefit letter (which must name the child) or all pages of the most recent Proof of Entitlement to Child Benefit document (which must name the child) and show an “Awarded from” date. These can be provided in your own name or your partner's name.

Thanks,
Stephen
