University Selection Help!

Hey everyone!
I was wondering if there was any good mid-range universities that offer law?
I just got 2 Pass marks back on my access course and wanting to put more realistic options
Any location is okay, but I’m not really wanting to take a foundation year, as I’ve already took time away from education!
Thank you
Edit: Just want to add that I’ve already booked my LNAT, so LNAT unis are okay to suggest :]

Hi,
I hope you are well!😊

Well done on your pass marks!👏

Law sounds so interesting! Do you have any future career plans?🙂

I study Social Science (I'm now in my third year) but know a bit about Kent Law school, so thought I'd hop on here and tell you a little bit about what Kent Law school offers!😊

Law at Kent has lots of offer!

Kent Law school has a Law Clinic which provides free legal advice and assistance to the local community who might struggle with the costs of legal representation. It offer students the exciting opportunity to put theory into practice and get some experience too! Read more about Kent's Law Clinic here.

Students have the chance to get involved in mock trials in front of real-life lawyers and judges in the moot court!

With a wide range of academics, Law offers students a variety of optional modules, and has many industry contacts too.

Read Elliott's story here, a mature student who engaged with Kent's Law Clinic, the moot court too.

The Lawyering Skills programme allows students to put their skills into practice. There are modules to help students develop skills such as the Interviewing module, where students learn how to develop their communication skills through workshops, which can be taken into the workplace when meeting with clients for example. Students can also take a Negotiation module, among others, and you can find out more here.

You can find out more about studying Law at Kent, including the course structure, entry requirements, and how you'll study here.

The Law school is based at Canterbury Campus which is a lovely campus! I like a campus university as everything I need is all in one space. Canterbury town is beautiful too and has lots of shops to look in🙂

We'd love to see you at one of our upcoming open days!🙂 The next one is at Canterbury Campus (where Law is based) on the 18th of January 2025.

I hope this helps! 🙂
Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Best wishes and best of luck with your applications!😊

Hi there! Congratulations on completing your Access course—it’s a great achievement! If you’re looking for a solid mid-range university that offers law, I highly recommend checking out Coventry University.
Coventry’s Law LLB program is designed to give you a strong foundation in legal knowledge while preparing you for real-world practice. One of the standout features is the Moot Room, where you can practice advocacy and get a taste of what it’s like to present cases in a courtroom setting.
What’s great about Coventry is that you don’t necessarily need a foundation year; they offer direct entry options if you meet the course requirements you can see some of them here. The university also provides fantastic support for Access students transitioning into higher education, so you’ll feel right at home.
As for location, Coventry is centrally located with excellent transport links, making it accessible from anywhere in the UK. Plus, the city has a vibrant student community and plenty of opportunities to network and grow your career.
Best of luck with your LNAT and applications! 😊

We also have a moot court in the university so you will be also learning in detail before you enter the world of work.

Sussex and Kent a re less-competitive but both good for Law - and both have a supportive environment for older students.
