Can I get a masters without a Bsc hons

Hi,
I had some struggles during my bachelors degree due to terrible mental health and covid disruptions. But I so badly want to do a masters degree to specialise in an area such as microbiology or forensics.
But due to my terrible mental health at the time I graduated with a Bsc without honours. With the grade being a pass.
Is there absolutely any way I could get into any sort of masters program to specify?

As above, I think your best bet might be relevant work exp to mitigate your undergrad result, but bear in mind that those kind of considerations are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Applying directly for a Masters will probably be a no-go simply because they'll expect an honours degree. You could always email a few potential unis and see if they would consider your ill health as mitigating circumstances, (just be prepared that the most likely answer is no).

Hello,
I would just add that as well as getting experience, and whilst it may seem that you do not have the required grade at your BSc, I would recommend contacting the universities that you are interested in continuing studying for the Masters program and talking about the problems that you had during your undergrad degree. The application process is a lot different for postgrad compared to the UCAS system to get onto an undergrad course and you apply directly to the university. As well as the course tutors, you could also contact the admissions departments at the university you are interested in attending as they may be able to offer you more advice as to how to strengthen your application.
I really hope you manage to go onto study at Postgraduate level as your passion for the subject really come across and if you express this when you enquire I'm sure it will help,
Good luck,

Hi Undergrad873,
I would just add to the other replies that I would recommend that you contact the university that you are wanting to study at and discuss with them the fact that you don't have the correct grade, but explain all the disruptions and your ill health. The application process for postgrad is a lot different to undergrad - there is no UCAS system and you apply directly to the university. I would also suggest contacting the admissions department at the university too, they may have some advice for you about strengthening your application.
I really hope you manage to go on to study the course - your passion shines through and I'm sure that if you express this to the uni as much as you did here it will really help,
Good luck!
