I like going to the cinema! There are quite a few films out at the moment or coming out soon that I would like to see so I've been enjoying going to the cinema in the evening. You can often get some good deals and if you have any independent cinemas near you they often have good student prices and it's nice to support an independent business too!

Have a craft night. There are so many fun crafts to do around this time of year - gingerbread house making, card making, painting baubles to name a few! It's nice to get your flatmates or friends around and put some Christmas songs on and make something nice together.
1.
Put Christmas decorations up in your house! We have a Christmas tree but if you don't want to do this, you could get some lights or tinsel or even make some paper chains to decorate the house! It makes it feel so cosy and it's a fun activity too.

Go to the Christmas markets. If there are Christmas markets near you these can be a really nice trip out and the often have bars where you can get drinks which is nice too. They always make me feel so cosy!

Go Christmas shopping! Quite often at this time of year the shops will be open a little bit later which is fun and it's nice to get your friends together and go on a nice shopping trip to buy some Christmas presents.

Getting bundled up and attending Christmas events is one of my favourite things to do during the colder months. Whether this is the Chester Christmas market, festive parades, or a winter walk - it's a great way to get out and lift the spirits.
•
Having nights-in with friends are also fun. In second year, my house did presentation nights, TV nights, and we spent time cooking meals for each other every now and then. It's a great way to make sure you are still socializing and not keeping yourself locked up, and is such a fun thing to do!
•
As well as nights-in, I love to get crafty if it is too cold and dark to head outside. For example, I might cook or bake something special. I also enjoy making friendship bracelets, colouring, and doing paint-by-numbers!
•
Something so important is making use of those brighter days. Open your blinds (and window if it's a little warmer!), put some music on, and enjoy some lovely sunshine! It can be difficult to keep your spirits up when almost everyday seems gloomy, drizzly, and cold, but keeping an eye out for those sunny days can be something to look forward to.
1.
Walks - potentially the most basic suggestion, but getting wrapped up cozy and going for a walk in nature, or to look at Christmas lights is so enjoyable and so good to get fresh air at a busy time of year!
2.
Movie nights - with friends or on your own, movie nights are a great way to keep warm and have fun in the colder months. Especially with a Christmas movie!
3.
Decorating your space - whether it's your house, room or flat decorating is so cheerful. This doesn't have to be expensive either, there are plenty of DIY decorations on the internet and some good deals at places like B&M.
•
