Where is the ideal places for Y12- 13 work experiences if i want to study nursing?

Me a 17 f is studying health and social and applied sciences. My school is asking for sixth formers to do work experiences soon. I'm really confused about where to do my work experience. I kind of thought maybe a pharmacy or carehome. Help me out.. .
Hey @nuoma,

I hope you’re doing well. Work experience is about gaining transferable skills that you might not develop in school. This could involve anything that helps you learn a new skill or gain valuable insights. For example, volunteering at a charity shop can help you build customer service skills, or shadowing a healthcare professional can provide a deeper understanding of the field. Whatever work experience you choose, make sure to keep a record of it so you can reference it in future applications for university or jobs.

All the best

Im in year 13 and for my mandatory placement I did it at my old primary school. it links well because i applied for childrens nursing! I know others who have done it in nurserys, care home, pharmacies, charity shops and even hospitals (which is actually quite hard to get) If you cant find work experience in a clinical setting, then dont worry. As long as the work experience will be able to let you transfer your team work and communication skills (+ Care) then thats honestly fine!

In addition the suggestions given by other posters, also have a look at special needs schools if there are any on your area.

Definitely a care home, it’s the closest thing you can get to nursing!
