Hi there
Your predicted AAA grades make you a competitive applicant for Politics and International Relations programs. However, GCSEs may be considered by some universities, so strong personal statements and references will help mitigate this.
Based on RGU's entry requirements for undergraduate courses, your predicted A-level grades (AAA) exceed the standard requirement for Year 1 entry, which is BCC for GCE A Levels in relevant subjects like Politics and International Relations. Your GCSE grades, while slightly lower in some areas, should not significantly impact your application if your personal statement and references are strong. Robert Gordon University also considers contextual admissions and alternative qualifications, which could further support your application. You are well-positioned to receive an offer for a related course like BA (Hons) Applied Social Sciences.

Hi! I am an aspiring Politics and International Relations student! I study A-level Politics, History and Sociology and I am predicted AAA.
My GCSEs bring me down a bit:
8 - History
7- Eng Lang
6 - Eng Lit
6 - Maths
66 - Combined Science
5 - Geography
4 - RE
4 - German
3 - Computer Science
I've applied to:
UCL - PIR - AAA
Kings - IR - AAA
SOAS - PIR - AAB
Queen Mary UoL - PIR - ABB
City, UoL - IP - BBB
How likely is it I will receive offers from all 5?

Hi there,

Firstly, congratulations on your offers!

Unfortunately, no one can predict whether you will receive all 5 offers so the best thing to do is focus on getting the best grades possible in your mocks and final exams.

Also, something to consider is that universities review applications holistically. So, even though your GCSEs are not what you had hoped they'd be, universities will review your entire application including your personal statement and teacher reference. So, if you have shown a passion for studying the degrees you have applied for and some involvement in extra-curricular activities you will be OK.

Good luck with your exams! 🙂
