What’s the best way to practice writing and improve over time?

I’ve been wondering, what’s the best way to practice writing and actually improve over time? Should I focus on writing every day, or is it more about quality than quantity? I’ve heard that trying different styles could help me grow, but I’m not sure if I should stick to one style and refine it. Also, how important is feedback? Should I share my work more often to get advice, or is it better to work on it privately until I’m more confident? I’d love to hear how others approach writing practice and what’s worked for them!

If you’re struggling with speed, then quantity is better as it forced you to write quickly and well. If you’re trying to improve your actual answer, then quality is better, focusing on style (look at exemplars).

I’d recommend getting feedback on your first attempt so you know what to aim for. Once you think you’ve improved, get it marked again to see if you’re actually improving.
