Society Spotlight Thread: Check out our societies

Societies are such a great way of meeting new people and because you'll have a common interest it can help make conversation that bit easier. A lot of societies will hold social events throughout the year too, so there's lots of fun opportunities to look forward to. It's important to have a good balance of studying, working, socialising, and taking time for yourself. Societies give you a break from studies, you'll learn new skills, and they can help keep your passions alive!

We'd love to know what society you joined, or what you're hoping to join when you start university? Do you have your own society idea? You can set one up yourself if it doesn't exist already!

I thought I'd start sharing some societies at Bradford so you can get an idea of the sorts of societies you might be interested in.
Society Spotlight - Bradford Game Society

If you love board games then the Bradford Games Society is for you and is a safe space for all, to socialise, play games and take a break from student life.

There's weekly sessions where you can play a variety of board and card games in different groups and they are soon going to offer occasionally short DnD campaigns that will run (hopefully) monthly.

There's a large range of games from board and card games to TTRPGs, video games and much more! Everyone is welcome and can pop in for a taster session at any time. Membership is £5 for the year.

They can be found in the Society Space in Student Central, every Wednesday from 2pm-5pm. So come down, take a break, relax, and have some fun! 🤗
