Applications: Can i apply through clearing if i was reacted by the same uni?

In year 12 i was predicted BBB and then my most recent mock in year 13 i flunked and got DDD (i'm disappointed, don't think this is representative of the effort i will put in for the rest of y13). I am worried that my school will predict me low grades like CCC and i need at least BBB. If i apply this year will they reject me, and if they do can i apply through clearing when i achieve the requirement grades after my exam? My first choice is marketing and management at UEA, and the others are safe options.
Also if anyone can give me advice on trying to get my predicted grades higher that would be appreciated.

Yes, if you don't receive an offer at all then you could potentially get in though clearing - assuming the course is available.

If you get an offer which you accept and are rejected based on your grades, then you wouldn't be able to use clearing for the same course.

Hello! @deficient-peak 🙂
I understand this must be a hard time for you, but try not to stress too much about it!

Firstly, I'd recommend talking to your teachers at school and telling them that the grades you got aren't reflective of what you're capable of. Ofcourse the final decision is down to your teachers but letting them know may help them make more informed decisions about your predicted grade.

UEA's contextual offer for Marketing and Management may be helpful if you're eligible. You can use the eligibility checker to see if you can get reduced grade offers. (you do not need to do anything, as the university automatically processes whether or not you're eligible from your UCAS information).

Whilst the above options aren't fixed solutions they can help ease your mind and allow you to make a more informed decision. Alternatively if it would help, you can talk to our friendly admissions team via email : [email protected] or live chat. They can answer any more specific questions you may have.

You can apply via clearing, provided your course is listed on the UEA clearing website after results day. You would need to make a call to our supportive clearing team and go from there.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask any more questions you may have! 🙂
Good luck with your application!
