History essay A-level

I always seem to struggle finding a consistent structure for my history essays in a level I currently average about a 12/20 which is only a c any advice on how to improve it?

what exam board are you doing?
but generally small improvements you can make is CONSTANTLY using the wording of the question, to the point where it is almost too much. also put judgements every few sentences or so.

Generally a good exam structure would be:
Intro
Answer the Question - Main point (so yes/no/significant etc) (Could do 2 paragraphs)
However - Counterpoint 1 (However this could be more..)
However - Counterpoint 2
Conclude

So is what your saying have your main point first and the 2 points that coukd go against your answer and then a conclusion?

Yes that is essentially it but make sure to include an intro
