Can I apply for two A level retakes while also waiting for offers while on a gap year

The situation is I am on a optional gap year after finishing my a levels in June 2024, I also applied to Veterinary courses by the October deadline however at that time I wasn't really planning on retaking so I didn't declare it on my UCAS application.

I got rejected from two courses but I am still waiting for a response from Nottingham and Lancshire. The deadline for applying to retake for independant exam centers is around late January with some exam centers accepting at the very latest in March.

I heard nottingham responds to applications by around late december (let me know if i heard wrong please), but lancshire's foundation course response period is from Febuary to May.

So im stuck on if i should I apply to retakes by around mid January even if I haven't recieved the two responses and should I declare it to the Uni's by email or should I keep the retakes to myself if i still havent recieved responses by mid January?

The plan is that if I get rejected, I would apply to retake and do the exams in summer 2025 and then apply again to unis in October 2025, and the other plan is if I get accepted to nottingham/lancshire I could cancel my a level resit.

I am already starting to revise again for the two subject I might have to retake independantly.
Do you meet the standard academic requirements for Nottingham or Lancashire?
If not, do you have extenuating circumstances, and have you already discussed your situation with the admissions team?

If the answer to both questions is "no," then yes, you will likely need to resit. However, make sure to check which universities accept retakes, as not all of them do.

Universities technically have until 14 May 2025 (the official deadline) to respond. To avoid missing deadlines for resits, it’s wise to apply to retake now. You can always withdraw or choose not to sit the exam if you receive an unconditional offer.
