anyone else going for the iclms and kclms exams this weekend??

omg, I was there for the afternoon sitting 😭 honestly i feel like i only have a real shot at iclms bcs i did terribly on the kclms, didn't answer most of the questions + flunked the ones I did answer...

16G 😔 wbu?? also, how did u find the kclms bcs I forgot to bring a watch so I was stressing about the time the entire exam so I did terrible. no way i'm getting an interview considering the competition. (whcih sucks bcs iclms is like 2 hours from my house and kclms is literally 5 bus stops from mine). also, do u go to kclms gcse+ maths on thursday?

everyone at the kclms exam seemed so serious like they all had several published maths papers, a perfect score at the IMO and offers from every russell group uni... the iclms candidates seemed way more chill but the huge ExCel centre + thought of the competition freaked me out at the kclms and made me screw up every question

THIS IS SO SCARY WHAT... i do go kclms gcse+ maths on thursdays lmaoo 😭 i was 12G idk if u saw me or not but i had a green scarf around my neck also i didnt go kclms cause they dont offer bio 😔 if they did i would so go also 2 hrs is crazy but honestly all the good schools are so far away from me like 1hr+ car ride 😞

wait that's crazy, there's barely ever five ppl in the class 😭. i think i did just a little better on iclms so i'll just pray till february (also, I was the girl with a clock on her desk bcs I was freaked out there would be no clock and then i asked the teacher if i could use my clock bcs I didn't notice the massive clock on the wall which was probably the most embarassing moment of my whole life ) I don't rlly think I'll get an offer since I a) screwed up the test and b) probably have the most negative widening participation score possible (I said prefer not to answer for ethnicity so the only diverse thing I have going for me is being a girl). I rlly want to go to cambridge and study either maths or physics but it seems like everyone else is already decided on maths which makes just a little anxious... i'm moving to north london anyways so i'd rather go to iclms or hbs than commute hours to kclms so it's become a bit of a whatever thing to me too tbh, if I get in then yippee but if I don't I'm not gonna like, never do maths again or sm (i was actually embarassingly devastated about doing badly on the kclms test that it's embarassing). but i guess we both have to win at least 5 olympiads, write seven books and win the IMO three times more before we can even be considered for kclms 😔 (jk, I hope we both did well and got offers!)

hii, srry for the late reply 😭 i've been studying for jan mocks for like 12 hrs a day istg. i got rejected from kclms (the acceptance rate this yr was 8% so idek what i expected...) which kind of sucks but I expected it ngl :,) , apparently they have this like widening participation score that actually gets added to ur test score for kclms and you can get negative marks for things like going to a good schl, not being part of an underrepresented minority + if ur parents went to university. i'm praying I did well at iclms but I haven't seen anyone talking abt it online so I rlly have no clue 😔. i also applied for surrey maths, though I don't rlly plan to go there lmao. also is it just me or everyone at these good schls is like insanely smart?? like wdym you mastered calculus in the womb and you're currently using subliminals to take undergrad maths and science every night while u sleep??? idk rlly but rn, i'll just take whatever schl I can get. also, r u applying to any summer schools/supercurriculars? my mum keeps nagging me abt work experience so I have to find something to do in the summer (i'm considering promys rn). oh, also my tiktok's @iv__kar, tho i'm not online much (have to master PhD level maths by February to even converse with the hbs applicants). hope ur applications went well too!
