48 hours after firming KCL, you can login to the accommodation portal using the id from the offer letter. Set a new password. You will then get access (it might be immediately - it was for my daughter) or you might get an email shortly after. When you log in, you'll see what's available at that point. You can see which rooms are available in each flat and who else is in there (age and gender).
You can book a room and pay a deposit. You're allowed to be change so if you'd prefer an alternative, you can keep checking daily and hope it comes up. Might be worth just booking one but prob worth only booking one you'd really be ok with!
Hope that helps !

Thank you so much, this is very helpful indeed. Unfortunately due to some of his unis replying really late we're expecting a lot of the good accommodation to be gone already ☹️ Thank you again

Hopefully you'll still be ok if you do firm KCL as they apparently release in batches right up to the deadline. Good luck 👍 🤞

Hi . Do medical& dental students stay in one block of flats at least informally.

Has anyone had any luck getting accommodation to suit them? we've just booked but the choice was minimal mostly only super expensive and a long way from the Uni, My son really wanted Stamford St but only Canada Water, Hayloft Point and Julian Markham can up and even those had very limited spaces!

Hi : is it first come, first served.? If this is the case because there are some students in medicine and dentistry waiting for offers or going to attend the offer holders day this Saturday before they make up their mind.

SSA didn't appear any time we went in and as it's only got 500 rooms, it might well have all gone. My daughter chose Hayloft as it's still only 20 mins to Strand (tube) and looks amazing. She decided not to keep looking for SSA and stick with Hayloft. (Now just got to secure the grades!)
If your son is near Guys, Julian Markham looks quite near?

Best of luck 🤞

I guess it was probably the first accommodation to go as it's close and more affordable. We choose Julian Markham as it's 11 mins tube and 14 mins bus, 1.8 miles so even walkable. Hayloft looked nice but a little more expensive for an ensuite and the rooms at Julian were a bit bigger. We did make a mistake though as we panicked and didn't check who he'd be sharing with and he doesn't want to be the only male in the flat so I'll call them tomorrow and see if I can get this info

I'm not sure, when we went onto the portal a couple of hours ago the choice was very very limited! I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask them this question as well as a few others

Called King's Residence who were really nice, they said they release accommodation in batches to be fair to students getting late offers. We've booked but there was very little available but I'm checking daily to see if anything better comes up as I (We) would prefer a couple of the other halls which are closer (And cheaper!) You can only change accommodation once so you need to be sure about it. I'm assuming that on results day a lot more accommodation will come up as a number of applicants who have booked won't get the required grades so their accommodation choices will be released. At least we have something booked even though I'll need to take out a mortgage for it 😉

Is anyone planning to live at home while at kcl? - It feels silly to pay 10k+ for accom when I can live at home for free but I fear making friends in first year will otherwise be a lot harder.

exactly what I was thinking - i suppose it will be a lot easier for students in accommodation when they'll have a lot more time to spend together, but hopefully with all the clubs and societies etc it wont be too hard

No problem, Julian Markham is £330 per week, £13200.00 per year 40 week contract , the other ones we’re interested in are £3-4k per year cheaper but they’re fully booked at the moment

We’re just within commuting distance and our plan at the moment is for my son to live in halls for the first year to gain independence and make friends and maybe commute from home for years 2 and 3 but that may change of course! Accommodation prices are crazy, almost double the price of outside London

Hi! I have a dilemma that I'm hoping some of you could weigh in on! I'm going to be doing medicine in september and I currently live in Canada water. I cant decide whether I should get student accommodation or not. I want to get it to make friends etc. but its £15000 and it feels like such a waste since I live 20mins bus ride away. What should I do??

This is for a standard en-suite 13 sqm approx 1.8 miles from the Strand campus

I haven’t firmed my offer yet so can’t see availability don’t suppose you know whether there is still availability at any of the intercollegiate halls - garden halls,Connaught or college hall do you? 🙏
