I haven’t firmed my offer yet so can’t see availability don’t suppose you know whether there is still availability at any of the intercollegiate halls - garden halls,Connaught or college hall do you? 🙏

Sorry I don't, I'm not sure if the intercollegiate vacancies come up on the portal with the Kings Residence? I check several times a day and only 2 Kings rooms (Canada Water and Julian M) have come up in the past 2 days! Seems accommodation is like gold dust. if you call them they are very helpful. if I do see anything I'll post here

Hi! I have a dilemma that I'm hoping some of you could weigh in on! I'm going to be doing medicine in september and I currently live in Canada water. I cant decide whether I should get student accommodation or not. I want to get it to make friends etc. but its £15000 and it feels like such a waste since I live 20mins bus ride away. What should I do??

My daughter will be studying medicine (grades pending ofcourse!) and will be commuting from Zone 4/east of London, longer commute than yourself. A uni experience is what you make of it and one can make friends even if they commute through societies and events etc. There is no guarantee that living on halls will give you lasting friendship either and vice versa.

My nephew, who also commutes is at another med school in central London, 3rd year and has made some amazing friends at uni.

Do what works for you 🙂

PPE, I've been doing loads of research on the various accommodations and am now happy to have booked Julian Markham as it seems far superior to many of the others so have decided to stick with it, it's significantly more expensive than the 2 others I was interested in (Stamford St and Great Dover St) but having just watched a million videos it's worth every penny. Problem is at this late stage you may struggle at a lot of unis to get decent accommodation although some don't give preference to early applicants such as Bath. KCL did say that they release accommodation in batches to be fair on those getting late offers but there hasn't really been anything on the portal for a few days now, maybe a new batch is due to be opened up soon?? Good luck with whatever you decide

I booked 2 weeks ago and GDS wasn't available then, I've been checking daily and it hasn't come up at all, mainly Canada Water and a 1 room at Julian Markham. As someone else mentioned the change button is now disabled due to the lack of availability. I booked Julian Markham and was intending on changing to ST or GDS but having looked at videos online JM is way superior especially the bathrooms as JM is the only one with a proper shower room, the others have wet rooms which looked pretty bad. The rooms at JM are also a lot bigger with lots of storage. The down side is the price as it's also quite a bit more expensive! I think you may struggle to het GDS now ☹️ Good luck

Yes 1 change but the change button has been disabled due to lack of availability. I'm assuming there will be availability on results day as a number who have booked won't get the grades needed for KCL

I didn't receive an accommodation email after firming so just tried anyway and managed to get in, I think you just need to put in you KCL number and a temporary password and you should be able to get in, there is a post a few pages back about this. I'll see if I can find it

"48 hours after firming KCL, you can login to the accommodation portal using the id from the offer letter.Set a new password. You will then get access (it might be immediately - it was for my daughter) or youmight get an email shortly after. When you log in, you'll see what's available at that point. You can seewhich rooms are available in each flat and who else is in there (age and gender).You can book a room and pay a deposit. You're allowed to be change so if you'd prefer an alternative,you can keep checking daily and hope it comes up. Might be worth just booking one but prob worth onlybooking one you'd really be ok with!"

have you checked out wolfson house accomodation? it's right on guy's campus i think and affordable

the portal said it would be the week before programme start date. that was 29/09, so i’m presuming for home students orientation is 22/09. i don’t know if it’s different for internationals though.
