My son got an email from KCL yesterday telling him that someone who attended the KCL offer holder day has been diagnosed with measles, the chances are tiny that we were in contact with them but I am impressed with that communication!

Hi I got an offer for Dentistry. I’ve booked an accommodation with a 40-weeks contract but my friend said that for medicine and dentistry you need a 48 weeks contract for accommodation. Can anyone confirm or deny this. Thank you. If I need to change, can I do it online on the accommodation portal or is it better to call them? (I’ve booked Canada Water if it helps)

Is there actually a phone number for the Accommodation team? If so please could you share it with me?

my med friends applied for 40 weeks contracts and i don’t see why you would need a 48 weeks one. you should check this with the accommodation people though

My daughter recently received an offer for medicine. I was wondering if there has been a previous offer holder day as the next one is on 10th May which is really close to the exams so unsure if she will attend or not!
Those of you who attended an earlier event, was there anything significant to note that's different from their open day?
Finally, to save me bombarding this thread with questions, is there a seperate thread for Medicine offer holders?
Thank you!

My son and I attended both the open day and offer holder day but Economics related not medicine. The main difference (Apart from more freebies 😉 ) was the targeted talks for each different subject which my son did enjoy. There was 1 accommodation open to view but it was a tube ride away so we decided to look online. Other than that there wasn't much difference and to be honest it was fairly informative but had we not gone it wouldn't have been a loss. I've just asked my son and If his offer holder day was that close to exams he wouldn't go

i got my med offer in january but this is the first offer holder day we’ve been told about too. honestly they should’ve put it earlier because some people travel really far for these offer holder days and it’s inconvenient with exams starting so soon afterwards.
as far as i’m aware there isn’t a separate thread for med offer holders either, but the current thread will probably be used for that purpose

Thank you so much that's helpful! We are in London with a commute of around an hour but I really do feel for those who have to travel far for offer holder days so close to exam time. Will you be attending the offer holder day?

yes, i’m firming kcl and my first exam is in june so i thought why not go. i live in london too so it shouldn’t really be a hassle to travel there. 🙂

Anyone still waiting for response from KCL - specifically Bsc Management?

hey, i'm studying Dentistry at KCL in year 3 and you'll only need a longer contract from year 2 onwards. for year 1 a 40 week contract is sufficient as the terms are much shorter. (but if you decide to change your contract length for any reason you can do it on the portal at any point during the year and it's super easy)

Same here, I've been wondering if there is another thread for med 25 entry offer holders? (seems not☹️ ) We have even not attended its open day, so my son will go on 10th May though this event is indeed close to the exam. I think parents don't need to attend, right?

48 hours after firming KCL, you can login to the accommodation portal using the id from the offer letter. Set a new password. You will then get access (it might be immediately - it was for my daughter) or you might get an email shortly after. When you log in, you'll see what's available at that point. You can see which rooms are available in each flat and who else is in there (age and gender).
You can book a room and pay a deposit. You're allowed to be change so if you'd prefer an alternative, you can keep checking daily and hope it comes up. Might be worth just booking one but prob worth only booking one you'd really be ok with!

Hope that helps !
