I am keen to understand Loughborough's leniency regarding conditional offer grades for first-choice applicants who miss them.
Hi there,

The University often does still accept applicants who have narrowly missed meeting the grades required by their offer conditions. It will usually depend upon how many spaces are available after confirmation of offer-holders who have met the entry requirements. It isn't possible to give a definite answer about this until we reach confirmation time in August, but many other universities use this approach for filling undergraduate places.

You can contact our admissions team for more information: [email protected]

I hope this helps 🙂

Thank you very much. I am doing the IB. Will I have to wait until August for a decision if I miss my conditions, since my results come out in July?

Likely, as the bulk of applicants sit A'levels which have their results in August.

Hi there,

You could contact the Loughborough Undergraduate Admissions Office to find out what their approach is. They should be able to advise you. Email: [email protected]

If they provide any information that you think might be useful for other IB students, then please do share it in this thread if you can.

All the best, Loughborough Team 🙂

Thank you. I will definitely do that. I appreciate your help.
I received an offer for Fine art but I’mhesitant to accept because I’mworried that if I don’t do sports I won’t enjoy the uni

Loughborough isn't just about sports! I know quite a few people who aren't massively into sports, and they haven't struggled to make friends at all!

There's lots of societies, you've got a wide range of things which aren't sporty here: https://lsu.co.uk/societies/list

Yes, a small portion of most things could be sport, but of course not everyone would play to a professional level and so there's semi-competitive (between halls) and recreational (absolutely no pressure) sport activities for most sports as well.

So in short, you'll be fine
