Feeling very unmotivated / burnt out

I’m studying fashion buying, in my final year and I loved the course, but since I’ve been apart of a startup company, working retail and doing uni, doing all of this I think is burning me out.
I feel really down, not gone to classes for the last 2 weeks. I just don’t want to do uni anymore I want it over, I don’t have anywhere to live after uni/have a job so it’s all making me nervous about the future as well.

It’s just all too much. Has anyone felt the same, or have advice?

Hi

It is totally normal to feel like this, Uni life can be really hard I think that it is really important to have a chat with friends and family about how you feel as well as your personal tutor/ support staff at the university.

I feel that this is really important as they can discuss ways to help you and if there are any opportunities from this.

I hope this helps,

Hi there,

It's normal to feel like this, especially at this time of year so don't worry too much. It sounds like you are doing a lot so I am not surprised you are feeling this way.

It's so important to talk to people about how you are feeling - talk to your tutors if you are feeing stressed about your uni work as they will be able to help you with this. You could also talk to the well-being team at your uni if you are feeling stressed as they will support you with this and will have the best advice for you.

Talking to your friends and family from home will help too. Text or FaceTime them and you might find that it helps you to start to feel a little bit better!

Make sure you have fun plans too. When you have time, try and make plans to get out of the house, go for a coffee or go shopping. This will really help to clear your mind and help you to feel a little bit better.

I hope some of this helps,

Lucy -SHU student ambassador.
