Hi there

We have some portfolio advice on our website, and if you scroll down you'll see some specific advice for Fine Art. https://www.aup.ac.uk/posts/top-tips-on-building-a-creative-portfolio

It should give you a better idea of what Unis are looking for, but each will have their own specifications for how to submit and in what format.

Hope that helps

Hi there @Ellis ,
I don't think there is anything wrong to showcase multiple artworks about a similar subject matter. However, do note that there are a limited number of pages you can include in your portfolio submission. What matters most is that you are able to curate and edit your portfolio to showcase your the range and depth of your research ability, creative process, technical skills and unique voice😋 I hope this helps!
Here are a useful blog post about how to go about curating a fine art portfolio that you may be interested in: How I put together my portfolio: Fine art

Hello,
I am a student rep from UAL and can help with your portfolio queries.

When making your portfolio, you should focus on the curation of the content. Consider the quality of your projects rather than the quantity. It's important to show some final pieces, but it is also equally important to show your creative process which lead you to creating those final pieces. Perhaps some mood boards, initial skates, annotations can be included to give a sense of your creative process. Also, consider the overall layout on each page. Maybe some boarders, intentional negative space to focus on images.

If you find that a lot of your work is similar, that might show your style as an artist. As long as it's clearly demonstrated, and you can show how you experimented which each project, you should be ok.

I wish you the best with your application.
