Need help on how to transfer?? And UCAS please!
Hi! I hope you are all okay!
Iam doing my foundation year for graphic design at LCCA, I started this oct ‘24.
LCCA is not a good university, so my plan is to finish foundation year and then try to move to ESCAPE STUDIOS as I fell in love with animation and would like to try get in there. I am working on my portfolio already but I am very confused about how UCAS application works
I asked one of the mentor at LCCA and she didn’t even know what UCAS points are then went to speak to her manager and just told me “yea u have to apply but we won’t help with it cause it s the competition” …….. ….
On the escape studios site it s says to apply with ucas by 29th of January to start in September 2025… but I haven’t finished my foundation year what am I supposed to do? Please please help me

With regards to applying whilst still studying, this isn't a problem and is what the majority of students do, (for example applying whilst still taking A-levels). You list your qualification(s) as pending, and whoever you nominate as your referee will be asked to provide predicted grades.
NB. If you haven't already, I would recommend contacting Escape Studios and asking whether they consider your foundation year for entry. You can reach them via [email protected] / +44 (0) 20 4570 5091. Give as much detail about the FY as possible as well as your GCSE grades.

Universities understand that when you apply, you won't have your full set of results yet.
At the University of Nottingham, we ask applicants from external foundation years to provide us with a provisional transcript and the syllabus of their current course. We then assess the content of their foundation year to see if it has prepared them for our undergraduate course, and take a look at any grades they have achieved so far. Offers made to external foundation year students will be conditional on the achievement of certain grades by the end of their course.
I would advise you to get in touch with the Admissions team at the University you would like to apply to. They will be able to instruct you on how to apply. It is likely to be similar to the procedure I have described, but each university has its differences.

It's unacceptable for a university t refuse to provide an academic reference to a student because they are unhappy about them leaving.
