higher apprenticeships

so as you may have seen by my last post, i was asking whether an apprenticeship was worth it or not. what is the selection process for a higher apprenticeship (levels 4-7)? i just want to know because im most likely going to apply for an apprenticeship as a back up route instead of going straight into employment when im in year 13. as a year 12 student i never really thought about doing a business and administration apprenticeship until now. so yeah. does anyone know the selection process to getting a higher apprenticeship?
