Oxford don’t have any subject requirements for PPE, though it is recommended to have studied A level maths. They list history as a helpful subject, but it is not essential, nor would it be a subject heavily prioritised by admissions officers when assessing applications. In any case, PPE is an essay based subject, so by taking an essay based subject at A level like business, you may find it easier to demonstrate that you have the required skill set to study PPE in your personal statement. Again, this is not a necessity as there are no required subjects. As long as you can demonstrate a passion for PPE (and potentially other closely related courses) in your personal statement and a true understanding of the subject, your subject combination shouldn’t in theory be the thing that hinders your chances. That being said, business is one of those subjects that won’t necessarily read well to certain universities for certain courses. Before submitting your application, you should ensure that your subject combination will not affect your chances of admission by looking at the entry requirements and admissions policies of the individual universities you choose to apply for. This will allow you to mitigate any rejections on these grounds, but generally speaking, you should be fine.
