Hi there,

Great to hear you're interested in those fields because the world will always need economists and financial managers, so its a good choice for employability!

I cannot speak personally for the unis you have mentioned but wondered if you've considered Bath in that mix?

We have both an economics degree and an accounting and finance degree which you might be interested in. I would say that personally I found the uni to be welcoming, a fun place to be with excellent teaching quality and fantastic industrial links. The great majority of our courses offer a version with a year long industrial placement which is really well supported, is worth its weight in gold for your grad CV and a great way to get your foot in the door for employment and do something different for a year (plus, the A&F and Econ ones are usually paid so you can save up some money too!)

According to the complete university guide, LSE, Warwick and Glasgow may also be worth a look for Accounting and Finance, and for Econ, LSE again, Oxbridge, Warwick and UCL?

Just remember that this decision is yours, and its important that you prioritise which specific uni's course looks the most appealing to what you want to learn and the future you want to start for yourself. Its also worth bearing in mind where you feel at ease and at home, how close you want to be from family, and also the cost of accommodation in the area.

I hope this helps a little - wishing you the best of luck!

I am willing to consider bath as an option.unfortunately,My A levels are ‘AAB’ predicted and GCSE’s are 2A* and 5A.This is below the standard entry requirement for bath accounting and finance. If the uni is willing to accept me being below the standard entry requirement I am happy to apply.

HI again,

If you are unsure whether to apply then the best people to ask would be the admissions team - [email protected] or 01225 383019. You can always ask them if they would accept those qualifications!

Hope this helps and best of luck with your choices,

Holly

Research their graduate outcomes and their NSS results for their programmes. You want to be able to get a job at the end of the degree, it’s not always about who you know. You could also look on LinkedIn or company websites to see where the staff/high flyers have studied? Good luck!
