i’m really anxious about it cuz i see multiple people already getting offers for Nottingham Law in October, November, meanwhile they told me they’ll get back to me by 31 March

It’s really nothing to stress about. They just have received more applications than they were expecting, hence the delay. Also, by law, they have to look at everyone’s the same no matter when they look at it. It’s makes no difference.

Hi there @staszya7 :wavey:

Please try not to worry about your application being held! Due to the volume of applications we receive to our Law courses from highly qualified candidates we operate a ‘gathered field’ selection process.

This involves holding some applications received by the UCAS equal consideration deadline (29th January 2025) and assessing them together. It will take us a bit longer to make decisions but we always aim to make decisions as soon as possible and you should expect to hear from us by 31 March at the very latest.

I hope this helps!

does the Nottingham law degree qualify for the bar? and will I be able to go straight to the vocational side of qualifying?

Hi there! :hello:

Our Law LLB is a qualifying law course and currently meets the requirements for Legal Practice Course (LPC) and Barrister Training Course. Many of our students go on to work as a solicitor and a smaller number join the Bar. Others enter a wide variety of other law-related and non-law related professions.

I hope this helps!

The LPC does not exist anymore and hasn't since September 2021 (for new students). It is now the SQE 1 and 2. Some Uni's (not many) law degree now include SQE 1. Nottingham is not one of them. Some Unis now offer the SQ 1 and 2 instead of the LPC. Again, Nottingham is not one of them (Trent do though!).

So if you love Nottingham, do your LLB at the Uni and then switch to Trent for SQE 1 and 2 (until at some point the Uni offers it themselves )
