CS or CS with AI

I was planning to apply for computer science at Uni of Bristol but at the open day the professor told us about a new course coming next year computer science with ai. I am interested in ai but i dont want to be bound to one field. Should i apply for cs with ai or normal cs? Will this affect my future?

Hi! @raised-clover
I'm a current student at Brighton studying CS.

If you are passionate about AI I would say go for it! AI is advancing rapidly at the moment and I can see why you'd want to specialise. You could also apply to both courses!

I'm not sure about Bristol but here at Brighton all of our computer science courses are the same in first year and you have the opportunity to switch between them in this year! So you could apply for CS with AI and switch to our general CS course, CS with Cyber Sec or even Software Engineering if you change your mind. It may be worth asking if this is an option at Bristol.

I would also check their website to see what modules each course offers and how many are the same to help you decide.

I hope this helps!
