I usually look for the quiet rooms but lately they are sometimes fulll. Sometimes , I will find secret spots where no one goes . My Uno just seems to be crammed full of students now and EVERY square inch is taken by a student. Luckily I have a desk and pc at home so sometimes I'll study at home , or half study with a laptop on my lap while watching a TV series.

Personally I like the libraries and go in different spots depending on the time of day. I have also found cafe's to be a great place to study as sometimes a change of environment is nice. When the weather is nicer I also like to do work outside.

Mine were the library on the quiet floor as ours had comfy sofa desks up there Otherwise if the library was full we were allowed to use empty classrooms. I tended to use the ones in my subjects building as it was more of a niche subject so the building was often quiet unless you had a seminar in there

I always preferred sitting in a coffee shop, so I had an endless supply of coffee and snacks, I liked having the background noise, and enjoyed getting out of the house every so often for a change of scenery to study! 🙂
If I say I like our library I sound boring but I like the fact I get to choose between spaces which I know are completely silent so I can get my head down and places which are more lively.

Hi @attracting-break My usual go to study spot is on the quiet floor in the library, as that's where I'm usually most productive, or if I'm doing group work them my departments central study space is usually a good place to work. However, Lancaster also has a PG study space in the city center which is quite nice to study in as its usually less busy that the main uni study spots. -Jasmine (Lancaster Student Ambassador)

Hi! That’s such a great point finding your perfect study spot really makes a difference. At Coventry University, the library is a popular choice, especially the quiet zones for focused work. The study rooms are great if you prefer a more private space or group discussions. If you enjoy a more relaxed vibe, TheHub has cozy corners, and on sunny days, the outdoor seating areas around campus can be really refreshing. What’s your go-to study spot? I’d love to hear your recommendations too! 😊

Hey there!
I get the need to find a perfect study space - but luckily at my university, there is a wealth of places to study, relax and socialise - and sometimes even a mix of all of these!
My favourite to study in is the EDEN Cafe when it comes to Hope Park Campus, which is nice and close to the beautiful outdoors of the campus and has the view to match. Just a quick walk away from the library and various private and shared study spaces, if that's needed too!
The brand new i3 Building is quickly becoming another go to study location! Since the building of the i3, I haven't been unable to find a nice place to study.
The Creative Campus also provides Cafe 1846 and doesn't let down as a lovely little place to study that I like to go to!!
I hope you find your perfect study spaces and all the best,

Hi there,
the library is brilliant for concentrated study and working but to spice up my study day if its a long session i like to head to a cafe for a few hours to get a change of scenery. I find this keeps my mind engaged and stops me getting bored of the same place all day.
You can also get a nice drink or a snack as a treat for a long study day!
Hope this helps Amber Coventry university Student ambassador

Hiya!
If I really want to be productive, I often book one of the individual study rooms available at the library (usually the day before, as they can be quite busy) These are such cozy spaces—warm, quiet, and perfect for focused work. One cool feature is that you can even change the colour of the lights in the room, which helps set the right mood for studying.
Since these rooms have a time limit (I think it’s around 3–4 hours), it motivates me to use that time wisely. It’s enough to get a solid chunk of work done without feeling rushed or overly drained.
Although I have a desk in my accommodation room and there’s a study room in my building, I find I’m much more productive when I head to the library. It’s like making the effort to get ready and go somewhere wakes me up properly, and I get into a better mindset for studying and a few less distractions.
If I only have a short break between classes, I’ll often just find somewhere on campus like the food village or the student union to kill time. I haven’t tried studying in a café yet—I think I’d worry about spending too much time or what if it gets busy or feeling pressured to keep buying drinks just to stay there. Does anyone have experience studying in cafés? I’d love to hear your tips, especially if you’ve ventured into the city for studying. I may give it a go after Christmas!
Looking forward to hearing back

Hi
I totally agree finding the perfect study space is the key to success sometimes as it allows you to focus better and get more work done.
Across the campus here, we have lots of study spaces from the pods in the quad area on campus to the beehive and the study there really is something for everyone as there are lots of quiet study rooms that you can book and get your study done within.
For me, I prefer somewhere quiet where I can study as this allows me to focus the best!

My favourite study spot at Southampton Uni is the top floor of the Centenary building as it has a great view of the campus. This can be a nice change to sitting in the library. In summer I find that it’s always nice to sit outside and study too!
Do you have a favourite study spot?

Hi there,
What a great question!
I particularly enjoy the lower floor of Seaborne Library, as it provides some background noise and helps me to feel productive. I also enjoy heading into town and going to Storyhouse, which is a great place to grab a hot drink to help me through my assignments! 🙂
I hope this helps,
