Do Cs at Higher count?

I've applied to the BA in Primary Education. I'm contextual eligible so the entry requirements are ABBBC.

I have BBBCC and I'm doing 2 more Highers and an AH this year. I'm also doing the top up programme. I have work experience relevant to the coure also.

My question is whether the additional C I have this year will count for anything? Or will they come back and say you need to get an A this year? What if I get more Bs this year, do they not count or does it definitely need to be the A?

Hope that makes sense.

Hi Anon 🙂

It's likely if making an offer that we would ask you for another A at Higher. Your C would count as part of the 'BBBC' part of the entry requirements, and by the end of the second sitting we'd be looking for ABBBC, which means a conditional offer could be for an 'A' in your S6.

We'll reconsider your application at results time if you miss your conditions (it wouldn't just be an instant rejection if you don't achieve the A). We'd then take in to consideration everything you've achieved, as well as your personal statement etc too. So while we may not consider the additional C when making the offer, we might look to consider it at results time if needed, and same for any extra Bs you have.

Hope this helps a bit but let me know if you've any other questions!
