Alevel Edexcel math advice

Hi, im currently in year 13 and revising for my exams, I didn't do the best in my last mocks simply cause I didn't attempt practice questions. However Im struggling to find practice resources, I have the book should I just focus on mixed questions and E/P questions along with practice papers ? I really dont want to spend too much time on basic knowledge as I have other subjects, I need resources that have efficient questions that I can revise from and are realistic to what might actually come up.

When you say practice questions, do you mean previous exam papers - there are a reasonable number. Also use some aqa ones as theyre not that different and if you need a shot of harder questions on a topic, you could try drfrost for that topic.

Closer to an exam, Id probably forget about textbook questions unless you really need to skill up significantly in an area using basic questions. You should really have completed a reasonable number of them anyways?

I was so unorganised throughout year 12, I did my homework like twice, really regretting it now 💔 I understand the content cause bicen math is so good and Im doing the past paper questions that are moderately difficult but getting easier, but I really dont want to risk anything I need an A/A* please let me know if u have advice for stats and mech I feel like im completely abandoning it but its just overwhelming to do everything at once.

Its hard to give advice on playing catch up if you fell behind last year and your exams are close as really its just a case of hitting the papers and if/when you get something wrong/cant do it, delve into that topic until you really understand it. I guess youve a busy 6 months if you need an A/A*.

What particular in stats and mechanics are you finding difficult?

yepp, im much more committed now, ive thoroughly revised most of pure so its good with the content and somewhat good with practice as of now. For me mechanics is easier, but I struggle with stats in general mostly the probability section, but I need advice on what to prioritise since its only 1/3 of the percentage should I be focusing more on pure or get unto a moderately good level on stats and mechanics and mastering pure, theres not much time so I really need to focus on what will maximise my grades.

Guess thats really your decision at this stage about how you use your time before the exams to maximise your score. If you feel that you can boost your mech marks more than stat marks, take the hit on stats and concentrate on mech practice. But the probability part is only 1/6 (?) of the stats section, so with a bit of revision (looking at model solution) you may be able to grub around some of the stats sections/topics for a few marks?

The way youre describing it, Id take the hit on the probability section if you dont have the time as it takes a bit of understanding. But come back to it in the christmas break.
