pls help! uni of York- second year housing

basically when I first started uni, I was contemplating dropping out for the first month and a half and by then everyone of my friends began looking for houses, and have already got theirs. I applied for an acom a few weeks ago bc I'm struggling to find a house lol or anyone ik to share with, but I got rejected. if I began trying to book one by feb the latest, would that be okay bc I'd rather currently devote my time to revising for exams/doing essays for uni lol. would appreciate any answers pls xx
Hi, I completely understand this struggle of finding accommodations and room mates. There are usually two waves of accommodation releases and the second one is around January. If you want to take a break from it now I do recommend looking before February. Have you tried looking through Facebook groups for people who have a house but are looking for one more tenant? Good luck with your assessments and finding housing!

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you were contemplating dropping out for a while, but I'm glad things have improved for you now.

The other place I'd recommend looking is on Spare Room as often students will advertise here that they are looking for another housemate in their house because someone's dropped out, or they're now going on a placement year / year abroad. Although it might not seem like it, there will be other people to live with and it will work out.

I hope this helps - best of luck with your assessments and house search, I'm sure both will work out. - Hannah 😀
