Whats the state of UK job market in 2024/2025?

I have sent out 80+ application and i only got a single interview and i work in IT (supposedly a growing industry) and i am not even a fresh graduate. i have many years of experience...

wondering if its an industry or country wide phenomena or is it just me.

not sure how accurate this is for your field, but the boss of Reed Recuitment was saying that the recent tax hikes for businesses have meant that firms were rethinking their expansion plans. he also says that recession is possible too.

not qualified to say. my husband is certainly thinking twice about employing another person for his electrical business (not sure if tax changes affect him)

The job market is god-awful. Despite graduating with a 'good' degree at a Russell Group university you can easily be unemployed or working some dead-end minimum wage job that would slowly crush your soul.
