Basically any method that means you are forced to actively recall information. For example, flashcards, making and answering a list of questions, summarising content into 3-5 key bullet points without your notes, answering questions and exam questions to learn what the mark scheme wants. Brain dumps are good if you like them - you write everything you can remember about a topic on a sheet of paper, then write in anything you forget/got wrong with a coloured pen using a textbook. Once you know the content, doing past papers under timed conditions helps you learn exam technique

Hi @Nancyshaw

When you first start revising it is important to try lots of different techniques to find what works the best for you.

One of my favourite ways to revise was to make a mind map with all of the information I needed to know. I would use the specification to make sure that I had included everything. I would then redo the mindmaps to see what I could remember.

I also spent a lot of time answering past exam questions and marking them as this helps with improving exam technique.

Hope that helps!
