Are we allowed to highlight on GCSE papers?

I have this tendency to highlight the questions on my test papers, and I also like to annotate around the question, particularly for a 6 marker, so it will be easier for me to answer it. Are we allowed to do this in the actual gcse exam? I dont want to make annotations but then the examiner wont be able to read my actual answer etc.

Also, my handwriting is really big, so do we have to make our writing really small in the real gcse?

Do we get marked down if our answer isnt clear enough to read.

thanks xx

Hi! You can highlight the question, but you can't use any highlighters or coloured pens in your actual answers. This is because they scan your papers in to mark them digitally, and black or blue pens without any interference are the most legible for this. And don't worry about your handwriting, you're allowed to ask for extra paper☺️
