Aqa english language paper 1 question 4

This question is always my downfall. I've practised multiple and gave it to my teacher to mark and have always gotten 13/20 n maximum 14/20 after I implemented her feedback. What do I do? How many paragraphs do u guys write? How much of ur answer is discussing language? What would u guys recommend?

Thanks

13-14/20 is great you know! Apparently it's very hard to get above 16/20, so you don't need to worry about it that much.
Obviously the number of paragraphs will depend on how much you write in each, but I personally liked using Mr Salles' method of where 1 quote with a piece of analysis/effect is approximately equal to 1 mark. So you just need to write about 16 effects (some may be on the same quote) for 16 marks. Find the method that you prefer.

I find that it's easier to talk about language so I do more of that, but you might like structure more - find your strengths. In terms of language, I always try and find 1-2 (no more than 3, they want variety) of each of simile, metaphor, alliteration/sibilance, some sort of strong/interesting word choice and/or semantic field, foreshadowing, maybe exclamation/question, short simple sentence, maybe long compound/complex sentence and then also mention why the author might have had a certain perspective. It is just practice, I'm afraid, so keep trying under timed conditions and you'll get there eventually
