Don’t know about the rest (I’ve also applied to nottingham for psych) but i would say Loughborough is the worst personally, because it really focuses on sport psychology due to its reputation on sport. So if your interested in sport modules i can imagine it would be quite a interesting course for you but if your not i can imagine it’s boring and completely uninspiring.

Hey there 😁

While my knowledge of these specific universities is limited, my experience has taught me what’s important to research and consider when choosing the right university. I hope it will help you 💪

Start with academic quality. Look into the expertise of the course and teaching staff. Student reviews can provide valuable insights into the learning experience, and attending Open Days is an excellent way to gather first-hand information. During these visits, you can talk to lecturers and current students, tour the facilities, and even participate in taster lectures to get a feel for the programme.

Consider what matters most to you. Beyond academics, think about factors like career opportunities, campus, societies, or the social life that each university offers. Reflect on your personal priorities and expectations for your university experience. What aspects are non-negotiable for you? Establishing these preferences will help guide your decision-making process.

Remember, the university experience is about more than just studying. It’s also about personal and professional growth, and finding a place where you feel comfortable and supported. Take the time to weigh your options thoughtfully and choose the one that aligns best with both your academic goals and your broader expectations.

If you were interested in exploring Psychology at De Montfort University, I would say it's definitely worth it. DMU provides incredible professional support. Although I haven’t graduated yet, I already have an impressive CV and feel fully prepared to enter the job market. I participated in multiple academic-led trips abroad and did a few internships and training courses - I never thought it would be possible alongside my studies.

Another amazing aspect of DMU is the strong sense of community it fosters. With so much happening on campus every week, there are endless opportunities to socialise and make the most of your university experience. On top of that, DMU offers dozens of societies, ranging from the most traditional to the truly unique, where you can explore old interests or discover new passions. Boredom and loneliness simply aren't an option here, and whenever I need a break from studying, there’s always something fun and engaging to do with fantastic people.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 😉 You can also chat with me or other students directly through The Ambassador Platform.

Best of luck,

Julia
