Should I drop Biology?

So, I am currently in Year 12, studying Biology, English Lang + Lit (combined), Religious Studies, History and Welsh Baccalaureate (similar to an EPQ).
I love all my subjects other than biology, which I find incredibly challenging due to the large amount of content and workload. I have recently thought about dropping biology, for various reasons:
. I do not need it for the Uni degree I want to pursue in the future.
. I am not enjoying it at all.
. While my other subjects come naturally to me, I find it very difficult to find motivation or interest in bio.
. Without bio, I could put more work into my other subjects and could also focus more on wider reading.
. I don't know if there is much benefit in continuing with it.
. I know others who have dropped a subject and are currently doing 4 (including Welsh Bacc).

However, there are also reasons I am conflicted about this situation:
. I am worried that it is too late to drop a subject now (or possibly in January, as I was considering making a decision over the Christmas holidays).
. I have already put in a lot of work and spent a lot of time on bio.
. I don't want to regret this decision, because I can't go back once I have made it.

I think I will discuss this with my Head of Year, but I would really appreciate further perspectives, as I am unsure of what to do.

Id drop it.
If you drop it, you will still be doing the 3 a-levels. Plus the EPQ.
You can then focus more on the other 3 subjects, which come naturally to you. Plus if you are struggling with biology anyway, then there's not much point in carrying on with it.
Id suggest dropping it. I also take Biology and know how much work it is- i know it feels a bit of a waste but you dont want your other subjects to suffer. Unis only look at 3 grades anyway and as you dont need it for what you want to do next it’ll just bring your other grades down.

Just as an update, I did end up dropping bio and it was 100% the right decision to make. My grades are going up and I feel so much less overwhelmed and better about the subjects I am doing. Thanks for everyone's advice!

Good Morning!

I personally would drop this A-level: You do not need it for your degree and also Biology is not really related to any of your other A-Levels. I would not say it is worth the stress at all. It sounds like the Biology A-level it taking time away from other subjects that are actually needed for your degree - it is best to drop this A-level.

Great to hear! Honestly if you don't need an A level for your uni course then there's not much point in doing it unless it's for extra UCAS points for Oxbridge/imperial or as an insurance in case you change what you wanna do in uni
