2nd Undergrad degree, can I get funding?

Hello, I had began a MSC in CompSci and have begun receiving funding from SFE for the course. I have decided that I should step back and pursue this subject as a BSc instead. I’ve seen on the gov website that if I do I could get funding granted that that it is an approved subject, it’s part-time if differs to my first BSc. Would this still apply for me considering that I have started studying but not completed a MSc. Also, if possible how would I apply for this as the online application form will not let me submit an application?

For reference, I would be studying at the Open university and the course would be part-time BSc Computing & IT with a second subject (statistics)

Slightly confusing trying to understand what you mean. Do you already have an undergraduate (BA/BSc/BEng/MEng/MSci/MComp/etc) degree and are now doing a standalone (typically 1 year) taught masters degree, and want to do it instead as a full undergraduate degree?

Hi there, how many years have you studied on the course? Thanks, Jason

I already have a BSc Hons in Economics. Full award from 2021. I received full SFE funding for this qualification.

I started a Computer science conversion masters that was part time over 2/3 years. I managed to complete 4/10 modules. I received SFE funding for this qualification.

I want to stop doing the CompSci masters for a BSc in CompSci instead. The government’s website says I can get some funding for the second undergrad granted that it’s in an approved set of subjects. The new undergrad I want to do from the OU would be one of these subjects.

Whenever I try to apply online the websites will not let me complete the application stating it’s because I have an awarded undergrad. This contradicts the gov website as it won’t even let me apply. Is there a go around to get my application in? I’ve called the helpline and the agents don’t know what I’m talking about.
Hi there,

When would you withdraw from your postgraduate course and when would your new course start?

Thanks, Drew

I would withdraw from the postgraduate course in the upcoming Jan and then start the undergrad in April/May. I could move the start date to September or next year if that would be more ideal to get the funding.
Hi there,

We would need your university to send us a Change of Circumstances Withdrawal and once this is processed you should be able to apply online. If you are not able to apply online your can complete the PTMN form and this can be posted back to us. The course you have mention in the above messages at the Open University is classed as an exception course and you can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan for the course.

Thanks, Drew
