Hello any advice for mocks revision during the Christmas break?

Hi, I'm a A Level student but I've done GCSEs.

I would say that you should make yourself a timetable (but it should be realistic, with breaks and time to spend with family and friends etc.) and STICK TO IT. Try to even out the time evenly between each subject, but focus on the specific topics that you're struggling with.

Also, don't spend too long on making revision material because it's likely that you'll spend too much time making them rather than actually using them (e.g. flashcards). Try to test yourself again and again until you get bored of a topic.

But remember, it's only December/January, so you have plenty of time after mocks to improve.

Good luck!
Do a little every day where you can rather than cramming it into a few days before the mocks. I found that printing out a calendar and writing what subjects id do each day really helpful before exam seasons. Before my year 11 mocks i was doing 3 subjects per day for 30-45 mins per subject however you can vary this as much or as little as you need depending on how much you want to improve, how much content you need to cover and how much time you can spend on your school work.
Let me know if you need any advice on what resources and methods to use for different subjects and I can try help with that too 🙂

Yes, I agree. Do small amounts every few days of each subject to ensure that you're not just cramming large amounts of content in one go. I'm a modern languages student, so if you need any help with that, I'd be happy to help!

Hey @Sher Limbu!

As r_burrell advised, definitely make yourself a revision timetable and try to follow it. At the same time, be honest with yourself about when you're going to be able to revise and for how long - if you have to visit family/friends on Christmas Eve/Christmas and have plans for New Year's Day, it's best to take those days off and try and make up that time elsewhere.

Make sure your revision timetable is also tailored to you personally - for example if you're a strong Maths student already, you might not need a long time slot to revise for it, and could instead extend the revision time of a weaker subject such as History or Modern Languages.

Best of luck with your mocks!
Eve (Kingston Rep).
