Your school chooses your options that you learn for your Paper 2. If you're homeschooled. I'm unsure.

You can choose during the exam but your school will only teach one of the topics for Part A and another topic for Part B so it'll be difficult to answer questions for a topic you haven't learnt. @always-anxious is this right?

So I can just choose the topics I wanna learn right? And I don’t have to tell anyone, I just do those questions in the exam time then, what topics are these??

Nope. Not really. It'd be really difficult to learn more topics than you already learnt at school especially with other A-levels.

No, I don’t do socio at school. I do it privately. So that’s why I’m asking, if I can choose whichever one I wanna do.

Yes. You can. Just make sure you've chosen 1 topic from Part A and another from Part B.

I think most schools do Families+Households for Part A so might be easier to find resources.

You have 3 exams. You should spend 1.5 minutes per mark.

The Essays (20 marks) and 1 of the 10 markers has an item with lots of information on it which is very helpful.
For Research Methods use P.E.R.V.E.R.T.

What’s an item. Like a little snippet of writing? I saw it online too
Yes.
"Parents today spend a great deal of time and money trying to make sure that their children enjoy a comfortable upbringing. They want their children to have opportunities that they themselves never had. ‘March of progress’ sociologists argue that these changes in family life have led to an improvement in the position of children in society."
An example of an item from the Families+Households section of the Sample Paper 2.

For aqa sociology there's 3 papers. I recommend you look at past papers yourself so you know what the different topics are.

Paper 1- Education with Theory and methods
Paper 2- Topics in sociology This is where the 'options' are
Paper 3- Crime and deviance with Theory and methods

In paper 2 there's section A and section B; you answer questions from one of each section. If you search up past papers for aqa a level sociology you'll be able to see the different possible topics.

I really wouldn't recommend this btw. I had to self learn sociology of the media for my paper 2 because we had no teacher and it was awful. Like really awful due to a sheer lack of resources and no teacher to clarify and teach us ir
