Sixth form / gcse results / LAET

I am a yr 11 student and i got my mocks back and they didnt meet the LAET entry requiremnts . I was wondering if it is possible to go to them on results day and still get offered a place?

Sorry to hear that, but you could try to go to them on results day and get offered a place. But it depends on the type of course you want to do and if there are still spaces available or if they are occupied. Most schools or colleges prioritise people who applied to the school and met their requirement first with their predicted grades and their actual GCSE results. Then they will look at those other people. You could still try and apply to them now and see what happens, they might give you the benefit of the doubt depending on how far your grades were from the actual requirement.

Try use your "aspirational grades". Either way, submit an application even if you dont get an offer so you have some sort of proof that you improved and had it in mind when/if you turn up on results day

if you apply with grades that are lower (try to bump up with realistic aspirations and approval from teachers) youll get rejected, but might still be considered on results day.

you would want to aim to get higher to secure your spot early on, as enrolment day can get quite hectic if you dont
