Would I get into Pharmacy?

I’m just worrying about my chances of getting into the Pharmacy program. My higher results were ABBCC, with an A in English and Bs in Computer Science and Chemistry, but unfortunately, I received CC in Maths and Biology. I wasn’t expecting my grades to be this low, and I’m really disappointed and heartbroken because studying pharmacy has always been my dream. I am right now retaking Biology and Maths while doing an advanced Chemistry course and next year (2025-2026) i plan to go to college hopefully for a year and do an extra course at level 7 (advanced higher), but I worry that even after this, I still may not get in. It’s all I think about, and I’m feeling so anxious and lost. I understand that I didn’t perform well last year, and I’m trying to fix it, but I’m unsure if I’m on the right path. Should I consider forgetting about pharmacy and look into another degree, like nursing or optometry, even though my heart isn't really in those fields? I guess I’m just concerned because I know there are thousands of applicants for only 170 spaces. Does the Pharmacy program go into clearing? I doubt it, but I’m just really confused right now. I want nothing more than to study pharmacy and i’m just so gutted.

It's worth looking at different universities and what entry requirements they need. I think if you resit your biology and maths and get good grades in them, you don't even need the extra level 7 course. If your heart isn't in the fields, then nursing and optometry probably aren't a good choice for you. Pharmacy does sometimes go into clearing depending on the uni, so far i know these unis have gone into pharmacy clearing before: keele, Wolverhampton, aston, sunderland, bath, ulster, reading, de montfort, greenwich, swansea. But obviously it changes year to year so it's worth checking on results day. It's good to contact the unis and let them know your results and that you're waiting for your resit results and ask if they would accept you. I wish you the best of luck and don't give up hope!
