AHRC Funding - Same Proposal, Different Consortiums?

I'm currently applying for a PhD in English for one consortium, but to boost my chances of securing funding, I would like to apply for more. The supervisor at my top choice university has encouraged me to do so (with the same project), but I'm really worried that using the same proposal for different consortiums would either be flagged by plagiarism detectors, or otherwise somehow be used against me, and I'd be excluded from all funding options. Any advice on this?

Why would it be plagiarism? Applying to different universities with the same materials is not plagiarism. And it's very much allowed.

The only issue I know of with AHRC and multiple applications is that you have to pick one university within a given consortium to fund you. But that sounds unrelated to what you're doing, and in any case is not a plagiarism issue. You should go ahead and apply. By all means email someone at one of the consortia if you want peace of mind, but in the meantime, I would encourage you to carry on with your applications.

Hope you succeed - unless you're competing against me that is 🤣 (well I'm not doing English so probs not really)

PS: This from the FAQs section of the website of the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities:

"There is no limit to the number of applications you can make to other Doctoral Training Partnerships, so long as you meet the eligibility criteria."
