Eligibility for SFE funding for PGDE

Hi, I was hoping someone from @SFE may be able to help me with a query I have regarding funding available for a postgraduate diploma in further education and skills at Edge Hill University (X341). It's a 1 year full time course leading to QTLS and this is for 2025/26 academic year. I've already had full funding for, and completed a BSc and MSc (not teaching related), so I was hoping that this course is classed as ITT like the PGCE and able to attract tuition fee & maintenance loan support! Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have my interview on Thursday so it would be great to know in time for that.

So just to confirm you already hold an undergraduate degree? Do you also hold Qualified Teacher Status(QTS)?

Yes I have a degree but not QTS,

The course name for my completed degree is BSc Psychosocial Analysis of Offending Behaviour at Edge Hill University. My completed Masters is MSc Psychology (conversion) also at edge hill. The prospective course is Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching - Further Education and Skills1 year full-time at Edge Hill University, to start September 2025.

Checking the system the course details you have given isn't bringing anything up. Do you have the course code at all?

On the Gov website where I applied there are two codes: 862379 and X341 and I'm not sure which one you need, but hopefully it is one of those!

Checking the system based on current year 24/25 as 25/26 is not yet open - the course name shows as POST - 14 EDUCATION and qualification shows Postgraduate Certificate in Education at Edgehill University.

This course shows eligible course and would attract the Undergraduate finance as long as you don't already hold QTS. Nothing would be definite till you apply and we can check the details and confirm for definite. Applications for 25/26 don't open till roughly Feb/March time. Keep checking our website for further updates on 25/26 applications.
