does anyone have any tips for preparing for an AC at a law firm and i mean like the case studies we would be given and the group work
With case studies, I'd like to believe that the skills needed are similar to that of the LNAT. So doing some practice with that could be helpful, especially using Arbitio. Getting used to reading legal texts can do wonders for the real deal, assuming the text has a lot of legal terms in it. I'm not sure how the group work exercise are like though, could you please elaborate on how they work?

what kind of legal texts ? also for context are you a student or a legal profession ? With the group work they might ask you to solve a problem could be legal and work out what the risks could be and sometimes make a solution like how am i meant to know that !
What type of firm do you have an AC for? Large City-based commercial firm with international offices? Regional commercial firm? What information have they given you so far about the group exercise?
We need a bit more information here. What type of firm do you have an AC for? Large City-based commercial firm with international offices? Regional commercial firm? What information have they given you so far about the group exercise?

Because the type of work undertaken by those firms may differ and, therefore, the group exercises may have a different focus. Some group exercises may be relatively generic (working in a team to negotiate a general commercial deal) and so unaffected by the type of firm and the work it does. But some firms may have group exercises which are very much tailored to their areas of focus (e.g. family, private wealth, real estate etc) hence my question.

Oh, and when I did an Assessment Centre at Wilde Sapte (look them up) in 1995, we each had to draft the rules to Snakes & Ladders.....
