Economics, business and law alevels?

Hello

I was wondering if anyone could help me with my new idea for an alevel combination, I'm thinking of doing the alevels listed in the title, I'm not sure what I want to do at university but at the moment I like the sound of the alevels I've chosen, if anyone could help me figure out whether this is a good idea or not would be greatly appreciated and whether or not I should swap out business or economics for something else

Thanks

Don't do econ and business together, some unis don't like it. Maybe change business to something like maths as it keeps your options open
If you’re thinking about law, you don’t need it to do law at uni at all. I studied law and did fine, you start from scratch etc. but if you’re interested you’ll do well in it.hard to tell you what to choose though.

Oh yeah, if you don't like maths definitely don't pick it 😅. I only suggested it since you mentioned that you don't know what you want to at uni, and the econ/business combo might limit some of your options.

You should probably figure out what you want to study at uni before you choose as you might find that certain subjects are required (or preferred) for the course you want. If you really don't know, just pick subjects that you will enjoy and get a high grade in. The grade matters more than the subject usually .
Hi, I did these 3 a-levels and after I picked I heard a lot about how Unis dont like business and econ together. I put my application in last week and have 3 offers already. SO in my experience the whole thing about unis not liking them both together is a myth.

Hello

This has given me a bit of reassurance so thanks, what course are you studying if you don't mind me asking and also what grades did you get at alevel?

Is the maths extremely difficult cos I can handle maths to an extent its just like if it's extremely difficult stuff that's when I don't like it lol, the requirements for economics at my local sixth forms is only a 5 at gcse maths, so I'm a bit surprised the maths would be as difficult you're making it out to be lol, but thank you for your advice btw

I don't think I'm wanting to do law, but I do have an interest in law as a subject to study at alevel

I do maths A level, I don't think it's extremely difficult but it does take a lot of time and practice to understamd some of the topics (as with any A level tbh). I'd say if you manage a 7+ in GCSE you'd be fine with the difficulty, but don't pick if you don't need it/enjoy it.

I do economics also and for my exam board (OCR) it's mostly just essay writing, theres not much maths to it. The only kind of maths involved is just things like finding percentages or one thing divided by another, so it makes sense why you'd only need a 5 in GCSE to do it.

Ahh kk, thanks, I would've thought economics be more of a maths based subject than essay but tbh that's good if it's an essay as I like essay subjects a bit more than maths ones

Hello so I was thinking instead of law alevel maybe I could do English Lit, I do enjoy it at gcse already and I'm doing fairly well in it now, and it is more academic and I do enjoy doing it more than the idea of doing law do you think that I should do this or not? Thanks to anyone that has replied and also to everyone that already has replied to this post
really hard to tell you what subjects to choose tbh, only thing i'd recommend is doing some reading into the subjects, like if you go to the sixth form's website you'll be able to see what you'll books/poetry/plays you'll study if you choose english lit, and likewise with law.

I've had a look and the plays and novels do sound interesting to the point where I would acc read some of them regardless of doing English lit alevel, so maybe it is a good choice, do you do English lit?

Is there an open evening at the sixth form you can go to? Or a careers advisor for a chat- if you never ask you never know. That’s good. Yes I did, many years ago
