Second degree

Hi

I completed a degree in medical ultrasound (no registration with NMC/RCOR) I currently don’t have a body.
And paid for the course fees with student tuition Loan.
I want to go back to university and looking at Midwifery.
Would I be entitled to funding through the second degree option as my previous degree did not have any NHS related funding (no bursary/grant etc)

I’m struggling to find answers out online and don’t want to go through the long application/interviews etc if I’m not eligible as I won’t be able to self fund.

Thanks

Hi there,

When would the course start, what university would you attend and what is the duration of the course? To confirm you are not registered in the field of midwifery?

Thanks, Drew

No not registered in midwifery or anything really.
Potentially 2025 (sept) or 2026.
Looking at Wolverhampton, Worcester, Birmingham city or Birmingham. 3 year degree x

Hi there. Midwifery is classed as an exception course. This means you can receive funding for this providing you aren't already registered in the field you are looking to study.

We typically need the full name of the course and universally, course code (if you have one), and length of course to check our system to make sure it's one we fund.

Typically, the universities don't put the 25/26 courses on our system until March 2025. Thanks, Leah.
