how does defering actually work??

like do you have to say from beginning on ucas application, on the start date? or can you defer after given offer?
for context, my top choice course says “no deffered entry”… does this just mean for ucas start date? or for everything?
if i get an offer and there is not an option to defer, is there a chance of contacting uni and getting a deferal?
plz help🙏

I'm pretty sure you were meant to select 2026 entry when originally applying. If you want to defer after getting an offer then you'd have to email the uni admissions team and explain why you want to defer. Whether they allow you to do this or not is up to them.

If you have already decided that you would like deferred entry, you pick the corresponding entry year when you submit your UCAS application.

If you change you mind after applying or receiving an offer, you contact the uni directly and ask them whether it's possible.

In that case it is likely under any circumstances. You can always ask them, but expect the answer to be no.
