I need help regards to attending uni

I'm currently a student studying at Uni of Portsmouth (studying cybersecurity and forensic computing) and started about 3 months ago (september 2024).
I have a slight problem, I live in Southampton. And the commute to the uni of portsmouth is about 1 hour, it is not long but it is still time consuming and not as reliable as every now and then there are delays that make it difficult to commute reliably.
The thing is I wanted to attend Southampton uni but I just didnt even bother trying to apply (i dont know why). i wanted to study computer science + cybersecurity at southampton as it is much more reliable to commute and I would put more energy and time into attending lectures instead of half assing it like i am doing now.
For A levels: I got A*AC.

I actually dont know what to do, but I really want to attend Southampton as commuting is getting more unreliable and I do not have access to a car or anything.
Any advice is helpful, many thanks
Have you spoken to southampton about applying to them through UCAS to switch there next September?
The option will either be whether they consider you for year 1 or year 2 entry but either way you'll need a UCAS application in before the January deadline.

I sent an email to Southampton regarding my situation. I'm just waiting for a response from them back

Regardless of what they say about year 2 entry it's worth getting your UCAS application in progress and speaking to your tutor at Portsmouth about them providing you with a reference

Do you reckon Soton would accept A*AC grades?

There's no guarantee but they have in the past - and if you think you will be able to complete and pass your current first year with good marks then that is likely to be considered as well when they decide if they can make an offer for first year.

The website says A*AA however depends on A minimum for maths

Hi @Ibrahimfida415

I am sorry about the predicament you are in, but am glad you are thinking about moving to study at Southampton. I agree that emailing admissions in the best course of action here as they are the only ones who can let you know the exact facts and best course of action. As it seems you have done so that is great. In the mean time have you had a look at the course on our website, it shows the grade requirements and other information that might be of help to you, I have posted the link below.

If you have any further questions about Southampton please let me know and I will do my best to answer your questions. I hope you get an email response soon.

Good Luck

Hi @Ibrahimfida415 ,

I'm currently in my 3rd year of Computer Science with Cyber Security, I understand you're already being helped by the others in the forum but if there's anything I can do or any questions about the course then just let me know!
