Google search for companies near you and email them. Do this with lots of places. Attach a copy of your CV and write a succinct and respectful covering email about what you are looking for, when, and why you and their organisation would be a good fit. Don’t be too narrow in what you look for as a lot of skills and experience are transferable. If you have friends or family in another part of the country perhaps you could stay with them if they live near a smaller airport (you might be able to see more about the inner workings of an airport this way) or an interesting company? Perhaps look at other travel organisations (local bus or train network) as they will use similar protocols like health and safety, crowd control, customer service, teamwork, timetabling, maintenance checks etc. On a side note, have you also joined RAF cadets? I know of someone (female) that joined them in high school and throughout uni and then became a fighter pilot.
