Applying for dental hygiene course, mature student

Hi guys,
My first post here. I have been out of education since I'd say 2016 (did my access to HE Science along with GCSE Maths and English). I am working as a locum dental nurse atm after taking 6 years break (had kids)

Anyone on the same boat as to where to start? I applied to Portsmouth for access to dental hygiene course but they rejected me because I have Access to HE course. However, when I do apply for dental hyg course, they tell me they need it needs to be within last 5 years?
I'm thinking of doing Access to HE again but at the same time I'm trying to find if anyone has got in other unis with foundation course included or just got in with old qualifications?

I'd really appreciate any feedbacks and experience as I am over 35 and feel like time is ticking for me. 😞

You should be able to do another Access course but you won't be eligible for another Advanced Learner Loan if you have already had one for the first Access course. If you can't fund an Access course yourself, then a degree with a foundation year might be your best option. Ring each of the unis you are interested in and ask if you would be accepted without more recent study.

Hi, sorry for delay. Forgot to check on here due to Christmas and New year's prep haha 😄
I did mine in college but this time around, I'm thinking of doing it online through my community college as I might have to relocate.

Hi there I'm in the same boat as you. Being a mom it's not easy and I'm turning 37 this year and I feel like COVID didn't help either. Might as well go for it than to regret it later on. 💪
Anyways I'm also browsing through the Access courses and confuse on which one to do. There's Science, Health and Human science and Humanities and social Sciences.
Hope to get suggestions?
Much appreciated 🙂
