Most students will sit their A level exams at the school or college where they study. However, if you are studying for you A levels independently, you will need to find an exam centre (typically a school or college) which accepts "private" candidates. (A "private" candidate is just a student who studies independently, outside of a school or college). If you'll be taking your A level exams in the UK, then you can search for such an exam centre here.

Note that the search tool uses the term "GCE" to mean "A level" and requires that you specify the exam board you'll be using for your exams.
